Friends Celebrate Charlie's Legacy at Olivia

Thanks to those who joined us at Olivia on June 10th  to celebrate the launch of our new website and partnership with Dell Children’s Medical Center. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces as well as new friends.

The Garden Celebration, generously hosted by Olivia owner and celebrated Chef James Holmes, provided the perfect opportunity to thank all of you for your support and share our exciting plans for Charlie’s foundation.

Guests visited under the patio tent overlooking the vegetable garden while enjoying wine and delicious appetizers. Chef James’ approach at Olivia is perfectly aligned with our focus to inspire others to embrace and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

Trustee Mike Lynch shared Charlie’s wishes for the work of his foundation. In keeping with the Garden Celebration theme “Let’s Get Growing”, Trustee Lezli Harrell shared plans for the naming of the vegetable garden at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Charlie’s honor. She thanked guests for their continued involvement and support.

Dr. Stephen Pont of Dell Children’s Medical Center shared details about the visionary Healthy Hospital program which will grow and thrive as a result of the foundation’s gift to name the Charlie Grant Garden. The Reverend Krista Gregory, chaplain of Dell Children’s Hospital, spoke beautifully about Charlie’s legacy and how Charlie, through the work of his foundation, will continue to inspire all of us as well as those the foundation touches.  He left an incredible gift that will help others for years to come.

The celebration ended with a fun raffle prize giveaway including copies of the book Anti-Cancer, which the foundation donates to patients and families at MD Anderson; Monkey Mats, donated by  Austin-based company Founders Christie Barany and Courtney Turich; and donated Olivia gift cards.  All were great prizes that several guests were lucky to win.

Let’s Get Growing!
