Linda Bayer

Linda has extensive experience in event and educational seminar planning. As with most individuals, Linda has close friends and family members with chronic disease that could be helped immensely with lifestyle considerations and improvements.

Linda and her husband Scott live in Wimberley, Texas, and enjoy actually “living” from the property - collecting rainwater and growing/eating from their personal garden. Charlie was a dear friend to Linda and Scott for many years. Linda and Charlie loved sharing new and innovative ideas for cooking in a healthy way.

When Charlie implemented his “Whole-istic” approach after being diagnosed, Linda followed right along.  She was very excited to accept Charlie’s invitation to serve as Trustee to inspire others to take an active role in their health and well-being and “Live to Thrive”.

Linda graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics Education with a discipline in Nutrition and Food Sciences from Texas A & I University.

Ron English

Born and raised in Abilene, Texas, Ron and Charlie became friends in Junior High School. They remained close friends for over 35 years and shared a love for golf, having played together since their youth.

Ron feels blessed to have known Charlie, and luckier still to have considered him his best friend. Through Charlie's journey, Ron was right there with him, and saw first-hand how Charlie took control of what seemed like an uncontrollable situation.

Ron eagerly accepted Charlie’s invitation to serve as a Trustee so that he could help Charlie continue his legacy of helping others.

Ron serves as the Flooring Department Manager at Lowe's Home Improvement. He attended Texas Christian University after which he served as the Head Golf Professional for Horseshoe Bay Resort for nine years.

Lezli M. Harrell

Like Charlie, Lezli grew up in Abilene, Texas. She currently serves as Vice President, Marketing for COPC Inc., a global customer experience consulting organization that has taken her to countries all over the world.

Charlie and Lezli were close friends since 1996, sharing a love of travel, exercise, good friends, good food, and a sweet pup named Coco. Charlie's beloved dog (pictured with Lezli) has joined her sister Zoe in Lezli's home, and together they "grab hope" every day for treats.

Lezli was closely involved during the course of Charlie's journey with brain cancer, and was inspired on a daily basis by his focus and determination in living life to the fullest and taking control of his situation with lifestyle changes. She changed many of her own habits as a result.

Lezli was touched to be asked by Charlie to serve as a Trustee, and is committed to seeing his vision become a reality. She knows Charlie will continue to provide hope and inspiration to others through the work of his foundation.

Lezli is a graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, with a B.B.A. in Marketing.

Michael F. Lynch

Mike served as a Travis County felony criminal judge for 20 years, retiring at the end of 2012. He was a criminal defense attorney in private practice for 10 years before, and also served as the Travis County assistant district attorney and chief of the Public Integrity Unit.

Mike was first drawn to Charlie as a friend after observing his legal talent, his engaging personality, and his respect for people both in and out of the courtroom. They had a mutual respect for one another that brought them together not only as colleagues, but as close friends.

Mike was honored to accept Charlie’s invitation to serve as a Trustee so he could help keep Charlie's spirit and vision alive. Charlie inspired optimism and hope in those he dealt with, and Mike is committed to ensuring the foundation will do the same.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School and Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Kelsi Morrow-Fernandez

Originally from Montana, Kelsi moved to Austin in 2001 where she resides with her husband and two young children. For eight years, she worked with non-profits to generate awareness and fundraise via the internet. Kelsi now serves as a Senior Account Manager for CSID, the leading provider of global enterprise level identity protection and fraud detection solutions and technologies.

Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2011, Kelsi took matters into her own hands (as Charlie did) to determine what she could do to treat her disease and prevent its progression. She is currently treating her MS via nutrition and lifestyle and is thriving as a result. As friends for many years, Charlie and Kelsi would often 'compare notes' about what they were learning.  See Kelsi’s personal story here.

Kelsi eagerly accepted the invitation to serve as a Trustee, not only because of their friendship and how much she enjoyed his boundless curiosity and unique sense of humor, but also because she understands from personal experience how important Charlie's vision is to the health and well-being of others afflicted with chronic disease.

Kelsi received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis from the University of Montana.
